Spring Counselors Tour of Ireland

Wednesday, 13 April 2011 14:27

A report of the Univisits Ltd Spring Counselors tour of Ireland, operated on behalf of OACAC.

Our tour started on Sunday the 20th of March and. Much like the hordes of England rugby fans who had descended upon Dublin the previous day, our counselors all arrived eager to see what Ireland had in store for them.   Unlike the England fans though, we were to leave on the 25th without any disappointment at all.

Simply put Ireland and the Irish universities and Institutes of Technology wowed us!  We were all amazed by the quality of the facilities and programmes open to students and our hosts did a magnificent job in showing us exactly why Ireland should be a definite choice for international students for their higher education.

It would be unfair to single out any one institution for mention here as they were all so different.  I would like to add that a particular highlight for me was the weather – so typically Irish, we had bright sunshine on most days and although it was perhaps a little nippy at times, it really did allow us to see the beauty of the Emerald Isle.

A massive vote of thanks are due to our hosts, Gill Roe at Enterprise Ireland for acting as the liaison and to our driver Mike.  You certainly showed us that you have World Class Standards and the Warmest of Welcomes!
